A Beautiful ride

Think of your first kiss, the first time you went to the sea, your favorite vacations, or even just a cozy Saturday night at home watching TV.

If you look back to see all the amazing places you’ve been, all the people that love you, all the good and the bad, isn’t that a beautiful ride?

We get caught up very easily in what seems to be the latest “problem,” always disguised as something different.

“More money, life direction, relationships, career decisions, etc.”

That only robs us of the moment we are living in.

Ask yourself this question: Are we really optimizing for joy, for feeling happy?

Lay on your bed, close your eyes, and remember all those beautiful moments. See your life as a movie passing before your eyes…

If that were your last moment on earth,

How would you feel?

Do you have any regrets? Would you have preferred not to spend so much time worrying about nonsense?

Think about your own mortality. If you had just a week left to live,

How would that change things for you?

Would you do anything different?

Most people tend to be tricked by the question and instinctively say “exotic stuff,” like travel around the world or scuba dive, but that is your mind.

When you are truly deeply present and grateful for each passing moment, all moments can be a blessing.

Think and feel the following scenarios, but from the point of view that you knew it was your last week on earth.

  • The smell of your favorite coffee/tea in the morning before the first sip!

  • Hearing the birds outside your window doing their daily singing.

  • Feeling the rays of the sun on your skin early in the morning, before your favorite breakfast.

  • Having a great talk with your best friend and laughing along.

You see what I mean?

Even all those apparently “normal stuff” gets to be so much more valuable and meaningful if you just knew that was the last coffee you’ll ever have or the last sunset you will see, or the last hug you’ll give to a loved one.

You want to know the “crazy part”? It might always be your last week-day on earth.

That’s not to scare or a morbid thought, that’s reality.

I know we all tend to get a little bit distracted and “caught up” in all the “busy” and “important” things in life, but reminding yourself of the fragility of your own life is always a good way to pause/reflect and live life to the fullest, enjoying everything as if it were our last day because… it really could be.

Much Love,

Zifush.
