ON Reducing importance

“You have no control over about 99% of things in life. Relax your grip.”

Life, in its immense beauty, can get messy when the mind tries to explain and control everything.

We get lost in fear, anxiety, worry, anger, and stress about situations, problems, and challenges.

The more we value something, the more “important” it becomes to us, and the more we start to tense up. That’s why the whole point is to reduce its importance.

The more you “desire” something—whether it’s a job, a new home, or something to go the way it “should”—the more feelings of anxiety, worry, stress, and anger will arise.

I’m not advocating for abandoning “desire” and going into the woods to meditate.

I’m saying to abandon “desire” and then go for what you want. What’s the difference?

“You go from a place of relaxation, trust, flow, and allowing life to be.”

Any time you feel stressed, angry, sad, frustrated, or anxious, ask yourself: What am I attributing excess importance to?

Much love.

Zifush.
